My Lovely Figment: 2009-2011(?)

In regards to the "anti" logo in the header, I will no longer create anything under the My Lovely Figment or MLF name, though I may come back to it depending on what the future has in store.

Why? Tired of this name, tired of names in general, tired of the negative connotations. Moreover, My Lovely Figment has always had the goal to express a certain idea, and now that I have realized and accepted the futility and superfluousness of expressing this idea, not to mention the idea itself, I think it's time to close this chapter in my life... at least temporarily.

As physical releases sell out, I will do my best to release them digitally, provided the FBI doesn't rape Mediafire like it raped Megaupload and the 1st Amendment.

I still am and will continue to record, just not under this name anymore. Again, I want to further myself from the ego and arrogance of both this name and noise in general.

I will still be using this name for releases I have helped produce, but took no active part in the actual music/noise thereof, simply because it's easier than coming up with another alias. For example, I am credited as My Lovely Figment for the production of Foreordination's "Dark Nebula" tape.

Thanks for those who gave their honest words and support,
Fuck everyone else,

-M.L.F.

More free stuff on the way

Check back to this post for updates.

Okay, so I've decided I'm going [to try] to release everything in my discography that isn't already free EXCEPT releases I still have in stock and/or releases I no longer own (for example, the unabridged 2009 demo tape won't be released simply because I no longer have the one and only master copy of it).

The first release is a doozy, although it's probably more suited for source material than it is for listening. From the one-off tapes uploaded to mediafire, then released on a few data CD-Rs, now finally back to mediafire, the gigabyte-sized -MEGAMIXES- collection features over 8 hours of early, if not the earliest field recordings recorded, remixed & "megamixed" by MLF. Don't worry, it's spread over several parts:

Disc 1 (primary megamixes, images & information):

Disc 2 (secondary remixes & info):

Next up will be the entirety of Anarchymoon Recordings' Power/Field 2 Compilation. I only did one track for this two-disc comp, but because of an incorrect tracklisting and the discs themselves becoming unplayable (likely due to disc rot) in an extremely short amount of time, I've decided to upload the whole thing aswell, in 320mbps mp3 format (sorry, uncompressed just takes too long to upload)

and the rest of the compilation:

After that will be the first version of my side for an unreleased split with Bipolar Joe. I say "first version" since the second and final intended master tape is with Joe; there's some minor differences though it's been a while since I've heard either version. Both of them suck anyways (2009):

And finally, an unlisted, unreleased c-60 tape titled Undulating. The label head backed down on this and other planned releases, never to be heard from again for whatever reason, and I'm actually very glad he did: this tape fucking sucks! I can't believe I actually wanted this crap to be my first non-one-off physical release, before even the WDIEB demo tape. Anyways, side A is probably the most boring HNW ever conceived, just a busted turntable and a tape recorder. Side B is a bit more interesting: all I used was a tape recorder (of course) and about three walkman cassette players set to "play" with no tapes inside them. For some reason, the further or closer away I placed my hands insider the walkmen had an effect on the sound, almost like a magnetic field or a really unimpressive theremin. The result was a fairly interesting minimalistic experiment that sounds like ocean waves:

Then in-between or after all this maybe a few scattered tracks that haven't been put out yet and hopefully the stuff I'm trying to sell out of, too.

091810 field recording side A only, because Dom from Black Bloc has the only copy and the B side is far less interesting anyways. Really like this one, wish you all could see the packaging I did for it too (2010): http://www.mediafire.com/?285ca1c9gar44pj

learning is fun .wav file for a compilation that may or may not happen (2011): http://www.mediafire.com/?racowdc25v73s55

Pizza Man demo 1 somewhat rough/unfinished cover of a song by Old Skull for a compilation that never happened (2011): http://www.mediafire.com/?chquclcin8uubhd

Figment's Fragments field recording pack a bunch of misc. field recordings that used to be on my other blog Figment's Fragments. Note, the link is to a folder with three separate mp3s: http://www.mediafire.com/?tzj2bmz72svbz

Thanks for reading, even though I know no one ever fucking does!

_.R.Y.Y. series complete

Yes, the project nobody cared about is finally done! And thank satan fucking christ it is...

"An eventual total of 26 unpredictable releases loosely based on the noise artist N.R.Y.Y. (noise re yacky). Can be anything from serious projects to works in progress, audio or video or writings, plagiarism or practice; some may borrow or simply be other works under a differnet name, while others (hopefully most) will be new. You'll see it all in due time. I have nothing against the aforementioned noise artist, I'm just fascinated by whatever the hell "re yacky" means, though in my usage it will mean somehting like random or miscellaneous; those familiar with a garbage omelet, well, this is like a [sometimes] noise version of one. The only conneciton between the files are the similar names. Generally they will have little info, no pictures (excluding the tentative pictures-only release) and no text files (excluding the tentative written release)."

"Mynd Eraser" video feat. HNW by My Lovely Figment

Awhile back, a fellow noise artist on one of my frequented forums put up a link to an unorthodox literary blog called "Cormac McCarthy's Dead Typewriter." It Included, among other things, Asemic writing and general nonsense prose occasionally set to harsh noise or noise walls. Still active today (or at least from what I gather) I sent in an excerpt of one of my own nosie walls titled "71410A," that is, the 'A' side of a tape which was copied over on the 14th of July, 2010. The founder of the website was so impressed that he later asked for a full version of the work which I included on a mixtape with other MLF rarities, and later still made a short video with a shorter escerpt of my work playing alongside a trailer for Michael Jacobson's asemic writing project "MYND ERASER." Unfortunately, blogger will not let me embed youtube videos [to the best of my knowledge] so here's a link:

You can also find a longer version of 71410A on the original blog post.

Soft Rock free download (check discography for more)

A tape that's been called my "best overall effort" by red soundwave-and I don't think he's too far off-now in free, unabridged digital format: Soft Rock

A weird hour-long analog collage of noise, tape loops, hip-hop, toilet grind, field recordings, spoken word, dadist percussion, down-on-the-farm-core and other nonsense with echoes of japanoise and Hal McGee-style cut-ups.

Originally, this was a tape release limited to four distinct hand-made copies, left around various parts of the Minnesota area, each with its own little faults though all with the same amount of material and artwork.

This release also marks a subtle shift in artist name, using the longer My Lovely Figment pseudonym in order to purge some of the stigma of the awkward, abbreviated MLF.

Cementimental/My Lovely FIgment spllit C-64 available now from XV Parówek

cementimental front

Available now from Polish label XV Parówek, barbaric novice My Lovely Figment and the seasoned veteran Cementimental present over an hour of glitch and noise for the occassion of the latter's tenth anniversary. It was hard work but a rewarding and valuable experience, both on my part and for Tim (Cementimental) and Bartek (XV) aswell. I think I can speak for all of us how proud we are of this release.
